Virginia Rose (Harvey) Anderson was born on a farm east of Taylor, Nebraska to John Leslie and Maude (Pierce) Harvey on May 28, 1921. Virginia graduated from Taylor School and became a teacher and taught for three years. She married Lyle Wesley Anderson on May 28, 1941. They had two children Shara Lee on March 12, 1943 and Norman Wesley on August 29, 1946. She helped raise her niece Leslie (Harvey) Peterson of Lincoln, Nebraska and nephew Webster Harvey of Tucson, Arizona. They farmed on several different farmsteads and retired to live in Ainsworth, Nebraska. Lyle passed away on June 21, 2007. Virginia moved to Lincoln in March of 2012 and lived there until she passed away on December 19, 2020 at the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln. Virginia is survived by her daughter Shara (Marvin) Bauer of Kearney, Nebraska, her son Norman (Loretta) Anderson of Malcolm, Nebraska; her grandchildren Rodney (Heather) Bauer, Matthew (Danielle) Bauer, Linda (Tony) Ridder, and Andrew (Kari) Anderson and also her great-grandchildren Nathan, Michaela, and Chisom Bauer, Kyle (Mikaela), Samantha, and Nicholas Ridder, Utah and Brigg Anderson, and two great-great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth. Pastor Gary Graesser officiated at the service. CD music selections played were “Jesus Loves Me”, “Amazing Grace”, and “Swing Low.” Casketbearers were: Tony Ridder, Nicholas Ridder, Andrew Anderson, Matthew Bauer, Rodney Bauer and Chisom Bauer. Internment followed at the Kent Cemetery in Taylor, Nebraska officiated by Pastor Marvin Bauer. Memorials were suggested to the family in Virginia’s name to be designated later. Arrangements were under the direction of the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Lincoln, Nebraska and the Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth.
