Veleria Jean (Jones) Hayes, was born, to Raymond F. and Helen L. (Pedersen) Jones in Ainsworth, NE on February 14, 1950. She passed away after a battle with ovarian cancer on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the age of 68 at the Kingston of Miamisburg, Miamisburg, OH.
Hayes attended St. Martin's Academy in Rapid City, SD, graduating in 1969 and Chadron State College in Chadron, NE, graduating in 1975. While presiding in Colorado Springs, CO., she worked for Shepard's, then for Matthew Bender. Matthew Bender moved Veleria to Albany, NY. After Matthew Bender united with Lexis Nexis, she joined the team in Dayton, OH. While in Colorado Springs, she was an active member of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in Latham, NY. Hayes continued to be a member of the Ainsworth, NE. Chapter. Veleria was an avid reader and always put family and friends first She always welcomed everyone with open arms and a contagious smile. With compassion, and love in her heart, she touched many people, their lives and embraced everyone.
Surviving Veleria is son, Richard (Sarah) of Little Falls, NY, mother, Helen Jones, sisters, Annette Hubbell, Rayetta Zibell and Patricia Jones, along with her grandchildren who were the apples of her, eyes, Gabriel, Daniel, Jedediah, Mattais, Canaan and Zechariah. She is preceded in death by her dad, Raymond F. Jones.
The memorial service and burial for Veleria Jean (Jones) Hayes will be on July 21, 2018, at the Ainsworth United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM.
