Travis J. Buoy was born on January 7, 1974 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Ken and (Carmen Pihlgren) Buoy. He passed away February 3, 2019 at Newport, Nebraska at the age of 45.
"Trapper" as we affectionately called him was very proud of being a cowboy. He loved animals, being a volunteer fireman and had a good heart. Most of all, he LOVED his kids and grandkids!
Travis is survived by his wife, Denise; his four children: Austin Dean of Kearney, Nebraska, Kenny and Desirae Buoy of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Carmen Buoy of Norfolk, Nebraska; Denise's son, Justin Rasmussen of Wahoo, Nebraska; Mother-in-law, Sharen Kramer of Atkinson, Nebraska; Father-in-law, Bob Ziska of Stuart, Nebraska; Brother, Kenneth of Valley Center, Kansas; Sisters, Jacqueline Harbert of Lamar, Colorado and Kathy Wachholtz of Pierce, Nebraska; and a huge host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Memorial Services were held on February 11, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Bassett, Nebraska, with Pastor Michelle Byerly officiating the service. CD selections of “Wings of A Dove” by Ferlin Husky, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill, “Daddy’s Hands” by Holly Dunn, and “The Cowboy Rides Away” by George Strait, were provided. Inurnment followed at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to the family, and in addition, a gofundme account has been set up and can be found under the title of: Memorial for Travis Buoy. Hoch Funeral Home of Bassett was in charge of the arrangements.
