Teresa "Terri" Lynn (Rich) Percival was born on January 24, 1958 to William Frank and Retha (Pickens) Rich Sr. in Wichita Falls, Texas. Teresa and her brother, Billy and sister, Debra, lived in Arkansas with their mother until the untimely death of her mother and sister. She and Billy moved with their father to Georgia where she lived out her childhood, graduating from Swainsboro (GA) High School in 1975. After graduation, Teresa married Sidney "Sandy" Shepherd Jr. in 1976 and to this union was born two sons, Sidney Blanton Shepherd III and Christopher Ryan Shepherd. Teresa married Michael Reagan in 1985 and to this union was born two children, daughter, Retha Anne Reagan and son, Joshua McK Reagan. Teresa was married to Jim Daehnke from 1990 to 1994. Teresa married Charles Percival on October 15, 1996.
Teresa's favorite hobbies were fishing and working in her flower gardens. She also found great pleasure in crafting, making wreaths and assembling care packages for our nation's deployed soldiers. Her greatest joy was doting on her grandchildren. Teresa was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Order of Eastern Star Bethany Chapter #113 in Ainsworth, Nebraska.
Teresa passed away at her home on March 23, 2017 in Ainsworth. She was preceded in death by her mother, Retha Rich, sister, Debra Rich, father, William Frank Rich Sr., stepmother, Alice Rich, stepsister, Zan Smith and brother-in-law, Wendell Durden.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Percival of Ainsworth; sons, Sidney Blanton Shepherd III and wife, Lisa of Pooler, Georgia, Christopher Ryan Shepherd and wife, Jill of Bloomingdale, Georgia; daughter, Retha Anne Reagan of Atkinson, Nebraska; son, Joshua McK Reagan and wife, Sequoya of Ainsworth; stepdaughter, Tamara Cook and husband, Jerry of Huntsville, Texas; stepson, Michael A. Percival of Lincoln, Nebraska; stepdaughter, Jennifer Fiesterman and husband, Troy of Winner, South Dakota; her grandchildren, Cierra, Warren, Alex, Halle, Maddox, William, Raelynn, Silas, Max and Charlie Jean; her brother, Billy Rich and wife, Debra of Swainsboro, Georgia; stepbrother, Lanier Griswold and wife, Joy of Swainsboro; stepsister, Zebe Durden Henry and husband, Cooper of Twin City, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews and other family members.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Ainsworth. Pastor David Randall officiated at the service. Music included the CD Selections of "Three Wooden Crosses" by Randy Travis and "Beulah Land" by Wendell Durden being played along with the congregation singing the hymn "Amazing Grace." Eastern Star Rites were conducted by Bethany Chapter #113. Casketbearers were: Tony Buckles, Clint Painter, Phil Zwiebel, Ryan Cleal, Gene Vochatzer and Dave Sherman. Honorary Bearers were: All of Teresa's Other Friends & Family. A Graveside Service followed on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Bluffton Cemetery at Bluffton, Arkansas. Reverend Lacey Minnie officiated at the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials were suggested to the family for a future designation. Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth, and the Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville, Arkansas were in charge of arrangements.
