Rosalie Lucy (De Wachter) Vargason

R. Lucy (De Wachter) Vargason was born September 12, 1924 in Brussels, Belgium and passed away on August 19, 2022 at Brookstone Acres in Columbus, Nebraska at the age of 97 years, eleven months and seven days.
Lucy was united in marriage to Elmer K. Vargason on March 13, 1946 in Brussels where they had a son, Steve.
Lucy worked several jobs in Ainsworth as hospital help, café work at the Confectionery restaurant and later as a Postal Carrier with the United States Post Office.
Living alone after 1984, she kept busy with yard work, and other small projects.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a sister. She is survived by her son, Steve Vargason of Columbus; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; along with other family members.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth. Burial followed in the Willowdale Cemetery northwest of Newport. Pastor Martin Leeper officiated at the services. Casket Bearers were: Trevor Vargason, Trenton Vargason, Wes Luther, Todd Flynn and Jerry Paulson. Memorials were suggested to the family in her name.
