Roman P. Coash Jr. age 84, of Bassett, Nebraska passed away on May 26, 2015, at the Rock County Hospital in Bassett. He was born on November 27, 1930 at Burke, South Dakota, to Roman Phillip Coash Sr. and Matilda Lydia (Cahoy) Coash.
He worked on the family ranch south of Long Pine, Nebraska and at the Bassett Sale Barn. He also worked for the Rock County Oil Company for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling. He has several albums filled with photos of his trips. He loved playing cards, pool and Bingo. His favorite pastime at home was putting jigsaw puzzles together. For a time he helped deliver meals for the Senior Center.
Roman was preceded in death by his parents Roman P. Sr. and Matilda Coash; brother, Harold Coash; brother-in-law, Leo Bonenberger. He is survived by sisters, Margaret Bonenberger of Bassett, and Joan (Eugene) Krysl of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Lavonne Coash Briggs of Lincoln, Nebraska; 10 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Services were held on May 30, 2015 with Father Phil Flott serving as Celebrant. Serving as Lector was, Regina Engel, and serving as Ministers of Eucharist were, Carol Hollenbeck and Mary Kaup. Music was provided by Trudy Nolles and Marilyn Lund. Musical selections were, "Be Not Afraid", "Servant Song", "The Supper of The Lord" and "On Eagle's Wings". Pallbearers were Mike Bonenberger, Steve Bonenberger, Brian Bonenberger, Colby Coash, Gregory Krysl, Don Coash, Rob Bonenberger and Luke Bonenberger. Altar Servers were Tommy and Ben Klemesrud. Burial was held at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery. Hoch Funeral Home of Bassett was in charge of the arrangements.
