Mrs. Margaret E. "Peg" Carlson

Margaret “Peg” Carlson of Bassett passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Rock County Hospital Long Term Care in Bassett, Nebraska. She was born on February 26, 1925 at Bassett to J. Orville and Ida (Davis) Jamison. She was the youngest of their 13 children.
Peg was a lifelong resident of Bassett and really loved her small town. She was a frequent visitor and participant at the Rock County Senior Center. She worked for many years at the Rock County Hospital as a nursing assistant. She was also an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Peg was an avid reader and especially loved doing crossword puzzles with Jeanie
Peg was predeceased by her husband of 32 years Raymond Carlson; her son Rodney Carlson; her daughter Patricia Carlson; all of her siblings and many of her friends. She is survived by her son Norman (Joann) Carlson of Niskayuna, NY; her daughter Jeanie Carlson of Bassett; her only grandchildren Taylor Squires and Lucas Carlson and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family would also like to extend thanks to Elaine Ogier for the many years of care and friendship that she extended to our mom.
Graveside Memorial Services were held on May 24, 2019 at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Michelle Byerly officiating at the service. Pastor Michelle shared special memories from the grandchildren and read a poem that Jeanie had written. Memorials were suggested to the Rock County Senior Center in Peg’s name. Hoch Funeral Home of Bassett was in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Rock County Senior Center in her name.
