Louise S. Jefferis was born in Gregory, South Dakota on May 7, 1934 to Ben and Marie (Klindt) Skinner, and passed away on June 18, 2016 at the age of 82 years at the Rock County Long Term Care.
Louise was married to Donald D. Jefferis on August 16, 1952, in Ainsworth, Nebraska. To this union Louise and Don had four boys, Dewey, Kenneth, Michael and Dennis. Louise lived the majority of her life in Ainsworth, where she worked at different businesses around town. In her later years, she worked at the Brown County Hospital, Super 8 Motel, and ironed clothing for people around town. Louise enjoyed getting together with family during the holidays, crocheting, polka music, and her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a life long member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Louise was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ben and Marie Skinner; brother, Ed Skinner; and infant sister. She is survived by one brother, Marvin Skinner of Olney Springs, Colorado; Sisters-in-law, Sharlene Skinner of Ord, Nebraska and Doris Graham and husband Howard, of Valentine, Nebraska. Four boys, Dewey and wife Edith of Ainsworth, Kenneth of Long Pine, Nebraska, Michael and wife Teresa of Ainsworth, and Dennis of Casper, Wyoming. Louise is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services were held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ainsworth, Nebraska with Pastor Georg Williams officiating at the service. Music was provided by Betty Bower. Congregational selections of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "Old Rugged Cross" and "Jesus Loves Me" were also provided. Pallbearers were Booker Boyer, Calvin Christensen, KJ Boyer, Dalton Jefferis, Braxton Jefferis and Devin Jefferies. Honorary bearers were all of Louise's other family and friends. Burial followed in the Ainsworth Cemetery under the direction of Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth. Memorials were directed to the family in her name.
