Lori Ann Jeffers

April 24, 1975 — May 22, 2024

Ainsworth, Nebraska

Lori Ann Jeffers was born on April 24, 1975, to Kathleen Ann (Ward) Lyons and William D. Jeffers, Jr. in Alameda, California.  Lori was their second child joining an older brother, William D Jeffers, III, almost 3.   Lori started dance class around the age of one.  She and her brother would spend most of their early childhood performing dance and acrobatic routines for Carol Jeans dance studio at venues around Livermore and the surrounding areas.

At around age 6, Lori's parents separated, and she was introduced to her new soon-to-be stepmother and sister, Stephanie Rose (Molcsan) Jeffers and Cynthia Marie (Creely) Brown.  Later the blended family would be joined by her stepfather, Thomas Henry Lyons when he and her mother married.  Lori grew up in Livermore, CA attending Emma C. Smith, William Mendenhall Middle School, and Granada High School, eventually completing high school by obtaining her GED.

She spent time working at her dad's furniture store and party supply store while growing up.  After high school, she tried many different occupations but preferred working for herself. She was extremely resourceful and had the uncanny ability to always find a way to make some income selling various items on the internet, having garage sales, or cooking up a new business venture.

She met Richard Che Hoffman in 2013 and they married in 2018.  They would eventually move to Ainsworth, Nebraska, and spend a couple of years bouncing between California and Nebraska.  Che was the love of Lori’s life, and she was devastated when he suddenly passed away in January of 2020 at age fifty.  She never recovered from this loss.  She moved back to Ainsworth where her brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Shannon Jeffers lived with their children.  There she met April Hinrichs and they became best friends.  Lori and April were a great support for each other, and Lori was again devastated when she lost April in October of 2023.

Lori never had children of her own, but one of her greatest joys in life was all her nieces and nephews, Karen Leeanne Jeffers, William (Will) D. Jeffers IIII, Jacob Warren Jeffers, Matthew Scott Jeffers, Kathleen Fe Jeffers, Alexandra Rose Brown, and Nathan Joseph Brown.  Through her husband, she also adored her grandchildren, Dominic and Destiny.  She was incredibly loyal to her friends and spent the years after her husband's death taking road trips all over the country visiting everyone that meant so much to her.  She especially loved visiting with her grandma, Roberta Ann Jeffers.

Lori loved music, she always had a joke to tell, and she had the most infectious laugh.  There are no words to describe how greatly she will be missed by her family and friends.   Lori passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Ainsworth, Nebraska on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
