Leona Fern Harp was born on September 10, 1938 on the Indian Reservation at Mission, South Dakota to Guy E. and Bessie C. (Parsons) Harp. She attended schools in the Brown County area up to the 7TH grade which at that time she was needed at home to help her ailing father. Leona married Raymond E. Biltoft on June 16, 1958 at Hot Springs, South Dakota. To this union three children were born: Danny Ray, Peggy Sue and Mary Lou. Leona was baptized in the Ainsworth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her pet bird, Charlie and her embroidery work. She made numerous quilts, pillows and pillow cases for many people. Leona enjoyed visiting with her friends and married relatives. She passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Society in Atkinson, Nebraska.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; son, Danny Ray Biltoft; daughter, Peggy Sue German; along with numerous other family members. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Mary Lou Weese and husband, Jeff of Wichita, Kansas and son-in-law, Gary German of Kansas; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many step-nieces, step-nephews, extended family and special friends, Pat and Colleen Lentz of Ainsworth as well. She loved them all and she will be missed.
Graveside Services were held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, in the Grandview Cemetery at Long Pine, Nebraska. Father Mike Wetovick officiated at the services.
