There he lived with his parents, sister, Doris and two brothers, Floyd Jr. and Stanley through his high school years. At Dalton High, he enjoyed athletics, excelling at basketball and baseball. Following his graduation in 1957, Larry and his young family moved to the Nebraska Panhandle, where Larry pursued a career as a Soil Scientist with the Soil Conservation Service. Two more children soon followed: sons, Gregory Dean (1960) and Brian Ray (1963). A change to the field of real estate appraisal took Larry back to Lincoln in 1969. It was here that he met and married Dixie L. Boyd. Larry and Dixie adopted daughter, Kristina in 1997.
