Karen Rose (Voss) Davison was born in Ponca, NE on July 14, 1943 to Kenneth Edmond and Eula Aline (Gloshen) Voss. Her older sister, Maxine and younger brother, Kenneth were her early companions, and the family moved between the Ainsworth, NE and Ponca areas before settling on a farm northwest of Ainsworth when Karen was in fifth grade.
In 1959, Karen married Bryan “Mike” Davison and they were blessed with three children, Denise, Debra and Jacques. Later in life, she, with Richard Colburn, was blessed with two sons, Jesse and Mark. One of her joys in life was her children and, eventually, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Another great joy was being a part of her church community and serving God.
On the farm and through her life, Karen valued hard work and took on all manner of jobs, painting and cleaning in the community. She also took great care with her home and enjoyed creating stability and beauty in it. She loved to read, especially pioneer stories and Native American and Sandhills history.
