Mrs. June D. (Snelson) Kelly

June Kelly was born on February 10, 1927 at Ewing, Nebraska to Emel and Iva (Goodwin) Snelson. She graduated from Long Pine, Nebraska on May of 1944.
June was married to Paul Laughead in 1945, and two children were born, Paul and Renda. The marriage ended in a divorce. June later married Leslie Kelly on December 18, 1954 at Long Pine, Nebraska. One daughter, Velda was born in 1956.
June attended the Valley Grove Church near Bassett, Nebraska. She loved music, and played several instruments. She also wrote poetry and songs, most of which were gospel.
June passed away on July 14, 2017 at the Colonial Manor at Randolph, Nebraska. She is survived by her children, Paul Laughead and wife Erma of Darrouzett, Texas, daughter, Renda Laughead of Nevada, Iowa, and Velda Mowery and husband Ken of Osmond, Nebraska, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bill Kelly of Gordon, Nebraska; along with nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services were held on July18, 2017 at Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth, Nebraska with Pastor Gary Graesser officiating the service. Music was provided by Carol Plate and Sandi Nilson. Special song selections of "Sheltered In The Arms of God" and "Each Step I Take" were provided. Pallbearers were Cory Turpin, Rob Laughead, Joey Laughead, Kevin Mowery, Dale Ellwanger, and Tom Theis. Honorary bearers were Duane and Mary Keim, Bob and Willa Keim, Marie Keim, Eunice Howard, and Eldon and Eileen Sylvester. Burial followed at the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery in Bassett, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers memorials were suggested to Cottonwood Villa or to the Ainsworth Senior Center.
