Julius J. “Pug” Murer was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska on March 23, 1940 to Blanche (Davis) and Julius S. Murer and passed away on February 23, 2020 in Kearney, Nebraska. He grew up in Rock and Brown counties, attending school in Springview, Nebraska. He joined his sister Josephine and brother Everett Murer at home. He met Rachel in Denver, Colorado in 1992 and they were married on November 21, 2008.
Pug was preceded in death by his parents, Julius S and Blanche (Davis) Murer; brothers Everett D. Murer and Billy Ash; sons Jeffrey S. and Brian E. Murer; and two grandsons J.J. Brandon Painter and Michael Dean Meyers.
Pug is survived by his wife Rachel of Ainsworth; a sister Josephine “Jo” (Shorty) Wilson, 4 daughters Elizabeth Anne Murer (Special friend Bill) , Theresa (Lamar) Roemer, Tracey (Jack) Noel, and Marty Honorable, Rachel’s son Sigido J. Sibayan, 4 Granddaughters, and 4 Great-Grandchildren and LOTS of beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth with Pastor Gary Graesser officiating at the service. The CD Music Selections of “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “Fiddle Story” were played. Casketbearers were: Shorty Wilson, Carl Hart, Arlen Francis, Roger Carpenter, Kris Stanley and William Williams. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery in Long Pine under the direction of the Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth. Memorials were suggested to the family in his name.
