Joanne M. (Johnson) Hall

On Tuesday, November 17, 2020, Joanne Marie (Johnson) Hall, 76 formerly of Long Pine, passed away at the North Platte Care Center.
Joanne was born March 24, 1944 in Newman Grove, Nebraska to Wanda (Arnold) and Norman Johnson. She graduated from Long Pine High School in 1962. She received her teaching degree from Kearney State College.
She married Louis Leal on August 5, 1967 and had two sons, Michael and Scott. After their divorce, she married Ronald L. Hall on February 22, 1980. She loved teaching and taught many beloved students to read, write, and multiply in small, rural, Nebraskan schools. She enjoyed having friends and family stay at her cabin. She enjoyed feeding people and co-owned Jeanie's Cafe for a few years. She also enjoyed reading and cross stitching.
Joanne was preceded in death by her father, Norman Johnson; her mother and stepfather Wanda and James Fredrickson, and her husband Ronald Hall.
She is survived by her children Scott (Ginger) Leal of North Platte and Mike Leal of Pacific Junction, IA; six grandchildren Austin (Chelsea), Jordan, and Jayden Leal all of North Platte, Raven Leal of Yutan, and Colton Leal of Dubuque, IA and Maddox Jocelyn Leal of Pacific Junction, IA; two brothers Jerry (Karen) Johnson of Arvada, CO, and Hardie (Margaret) Johnson of Rineyville, KY; and many beloved half brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.


Memorial Services will be held at a later date with inurnment to be in the Grandview Cemetery at Long Pine. Memorials may be made to the family in her name. Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hochfuneralhome.com .
