Janice M. Weiss, 75, died on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Ainsworth Care Center. She was born on February 20, 1939 to Cecil M. and Margaret E. (Jackson) Carlson in Ainsworth, Nebraska. Janice graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1957. On June 1, 1958 she married Roger L. Weiss and together they had two children, Douglas L. Weiss of Ainsworth and Julia E. (Weiss) Ferguson of Las Vegas, Nevada. Janice was a member of PEO, Chapter BM and Bethany Chapter #113 Eastern Star. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ainsworth, Nebraska, and was involved in various aspects of the church. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lesa Rudnick, and husband, Roger L. Weiss. Survivors include her son, Douglas and wife, Debora of Ainsworth; daughter, Julia and husband, Timothy of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Maikayla Weiss, Kathleen (Ferguson) Falter, and Drew and Ryan Ferguson; one great granddaughter, Arianna C. Falter; two sisters, Judy Glassburner and husband, John of Geneva, Nebraska and Mary Jean Graesser and husband, Russ of Spearfish, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Mike Rudnick of Ainsworth; and one niece, three nephews and a host of other family members. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Ainsworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Eldon Davis officiating. Burial was in the Ainsworth Cemetery. Music was provided by Sherry Campbell with "How Great Thou Art", "Battle Hymn of the Republic", "In the Garden", and other musical selections being played. Pall Bearers were Jennifer and Maikayla Weiss, Kathleen (Ferguson) Falter, Drew and Ryan Ferguson, Mike Freeman, Daniel Rudnick, and Joshua and Emily Graesser. Memorials may be made to either The Nebraska Children's Home or the Ainsworth United Methodist Youth Fellowship. Hoch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
