Mrs. Frances M. (Herrington) Clark

Frances Hedvig Herrington was born May 6, 1926 on the original homestead south of Merriman, Nebraska to James and Margaret Herrington and passed away on December 11, 2013 at the Parkside Manor Assisted Living. Frances' family lived through the depression in the 30's, she was the 5th of 9 children. Frances graduated from Gordon High school in 1946 and taught in a one room country school for 3 years. James and Margaret bought a ranch south of Bassett, Nebraska. Jack Clark had returned from WWII and owned a ranch 3 miles east. Frances married John "Jack" Clark on April 2, 1948 and was confirmed in the Catholic Church as Frances Mary Clark. They raised seven children living on the ranch. Frances was a country ranch wife and Mother. Frances enjoyed sewing and quilting. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After Jack's death, Frances returned to college to graduate in 1988 and traveled extensively.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, a son Tony and one grandson, Troy Clark, a brother George and two sisters, Helen and Martha. Survivors include her children, Patricia (Ron) Dvorak of Bismarck, ND, Ellen (Ken) Ackerman of Omaha, NE., Mary (Richard) Snyder of Arlington, VA., Mike (Marty) Clark and Cathy (Steve) Sybrant, all of Bassett, Dave Clark of Long Pine, NE. 13-Grandchildren, Jessica, Martha Andrea, Rob, Liliana, Hillary, Kimberly, Jennifer, Weslie, Joe, Katie, John, Mariah & Travis. 4 great-grandchildren, Charton, Sierra, Jasmine and Ashton. Three brothers, James, Peter Daniel both of Stuart, NE., and Robert Herrington of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Margaret (Larry) Zimmerman of Harrison, NE and Evelyn Mahlin of Fairbury, NE.
Visitations with a Rosary/Prayer service were held on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bassett, Nebraska, with funeral services then being held on Saturday, December 14th at 2:00 PM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. Music was provided by Trudy Nolles with the song selection of "Amazing Grace". Casket bearers were Frances' grandchildren, Martha and Andrea Dvorak, Liliana Trottier, Jennie Dvorak, Mariah Ackerman and Travis Ackerman, Kimberly Snyder, Jessica and Rob Clark, Hillary Dearmont, Joe, Katie, John and Weslie Clark. Honorary bearers were all of Frances' other family members, friends, and neighbors. Burial was held at the Grandview Cemetery in Long Pine, Nebraska under the direction of Hoch Funeral Home of Bassett. Memorials were directed to the Parkside Assisted Living of Stuart or to the Donors Choice.
