Charles J. 'Charlie" Fuller

October 20, 1944 — January 30, 2017

Staff Sergeant Charles Justus Fuller born October 20, 1944 and went to the Lord on January 30, 2017. He was born to Harrison Ilo and Irene (Tyler) Fuller. Charlie served in the United States Army from September of 1962 to October of 1972. He served a total of 54 months in Vietnam. After his time in the army he went to Oklahoma. He spent 22 years there until returning home to Bassett. During his retired years he and Steve enjoyed long car rides, traveling when they could and visiting with anyone they would run in to.
He is survived by his sister Evelyn (Don) Kirstine from Tularosa, New Mexico. His nieces Alice (Eric) Williams from Arco, Idaho, Stephanie (Darren) Weathers from Juneau, Alaska, Tootsie (Matt) Schrowe from Red Lodge, Montana, and Teddy Johnnie (Tom Mooney) from Juneau, Alaska. Ex brother-in-law Chuck Johnnie from Juneau, Alaska. Great nephews Isaac Weathers, Brent Weathers, Zachary Williams, Daniel Williams, and Tyler Schrowe. Great nieces Leilani Williams. Great-great Nephews Matthew Weathers and Alonzo Berg. Great-great niece Piper Berg. Cousins, Ron (Marilyn) Tyler from Grand Island, Nebraska, Jolene Tyler from Grand Island, Nebraska, Denny (Cindy) Lane from Bassett, Nebraska, and Larry Lane from Bassett, Nebraska, as well as several family members from cousins and great friends.
He was preceded in death by his partner Steve Houghton, father, Harrison Ilo Fuller, mother, Irene Fuller, and brother, Thomas Fuller.
Memorial services were at held on February 13, 2017 at the St. Marys Episcopal Church in Bassett with Father Randy Goeke officiating the service. Music was provided by Mike Skulavik. Congregational selections of "The King of Love," "Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus," "Praise to the Lord," and "Amazing Grace" were sung. Honorary bearers were all of Charlie's family and friends. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Hoch Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
