Bradley Leland Moody, age 56, of Pilot Mound Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Ames, Iowa. He was born on Friday, October 13, 1967, (something his grandmother believed to be a very
bad omen) in Ainsworth, Nebraska to Evelyn and Leland (Babe) Moody. He attended Brown County District 21 Pleasant Hill Elementary and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1986. While in school, Brad excelled in FFA and football. While in college at UNL, Brad was a Nebraska FFA State Officer. Upon leaving college, he returned home to help on the family farm and started his own farm as well. While farming, Brad was approached by Helena Chemical Company thus beginning his career in agronomy and seed genetics and his move to his final home – Iowa. Before his passing, Brad was working for Key Co-Op at Story City, Iowa.
Brad enjoyed spending time with his children and attending their many activities and
performances. He also enjoyed tending to his large garden, cooking, baking, playing video
games and sports and much more with his kids. Brad was a family man through and through,
making sure to always reach out to extended family as well as spend as much time as possible
with his nieces. From birth, agriculture was Brad’s greatest passion (besides his kids). Starting on
the family farm irrigating and working with livestock, at one point contracting sheep for mutton
busting, and in his later years, this showed through his occupation of agronomy and his acres
large garden he tended.
Brad was preceded in death by his parents. To those who continue his legacy, he leaves behind his three children Angelica Moody of Ankeny, IA and Glenda Moody and Gideon Moody both of Pilot Mound; the mother of his children Heather Moody of Ogden, IA; three siblings; Donald (Lisa) Moody of Collins, IA, Lydia Moody of Ainsworth and Linda Moody of Ceresco, NE; three nieces and two nephews: Adam Buoy (Tana)
of Lincoln NE, Chelsey (Dave) Lane of Long Pine, NE, Sarah Moody of Des Moines IA,
Alexander Minert of Phoenix AZ and Olivia Moody of Collins IA, along with cousins and other
family members.
