OBITUARY FOR BOBBIE DEAN “BOB” WILSON
Bobbie Dean Wilson age 74 of Ainsworth, Nebraska was born on September 9, 1945 at Lynch, Nebraska to Wirth and Daisy (Hursell) Wilson and passed at his home on December 15, 2019.
Bob attended rural schools near Verdel, Long Pine, and Ewing, Nebraska, and attended high school at Bassett, Nebraska. He met Audrey Luther at a Ram Rods dance in Ainsworth in 1961. After school he trucked hay, and later joined the United States Army where he spent this time overseas in Germany. After his discharge in 1968, he moved to Ainsworth, where he went to work for Farmers Ranchers CO-OP, where he worked for 34 years.
In 1969, Bob and Audrey were married and made their home in Ainsworth where they raised a son, Waco Dean, and a daughter, Calista Dawn. They just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 24, 2019.
Bob enjoyed ranching and volunteering for the Ainsworth Fire Department for 37 years. After Bob retired from CO-OP, he went to work with his brother Lynn, at Vetter Farms in Bassett until his cancer and stroke in 2009. Bob was also a member of the Ainsworth American Legion Post #79, and the Ainsworth Elks Club where he went through the chairs and served as the Exalted Ruler from 2002-2003.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, as well as six brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law. He is survived by his wife Audrey, son, Waco of Montrose, Colorado, daughter, Calista Keezer of Ainsworth. Five grandchildren, Brandon Wilson of North Platte, Nebraska Bryce Wilson of Grant, Nebraska, Jordan Keezer of North Platte, and Aliya and Jayden Keezer both of Ainsworth. Two great-grandchildren, Railynn Wilson and Kinsley Keezer of North Platte. Brothers, Hershel “Shorty” Wilson (Jo) of Bassett, Alvin of Cedaredge, Colorado, Lynn (Jo) of Maywood, Nebraska, Ray (Betty) of Newport, Nebraska. Sisters, LouAnn Samora of Alamosa, Colorado, Alice Woodward of Melbourne, Arkansas, Vivian “Suzy” Thomas (Lorrin) of Bassett, along with many, many nieces, and nephews and other family members.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Ainsworth United Methodist Church with Pastor David Randall officiating. Music was provided by Danny and Kathy Bennett and Rodney and Tonya Luther singing “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Daddy’s Hands.” Active Casket Bearers were: Brandon, Bryce and Levi Wilson, Jordan Keezer and Heath and Riley Rudnick. Honorary Casket Bearers were: Randy Johnson, Les Waits, Wes Luther, Rick Goochey, Larry Rau, Bill See, Bill Worden, Brad Fiala, Gary Baxter, Gary Luther, Doug O’Hare and Jim Schendt and all of Bob’s other friends. Organizational Rites were conducted by Ainsworth Volunteer Fire Department, Ainsworth Elks Lodge #1790 and Ainsworth American Legion Post #79. Memorials were suggested to the Volunteer Fire Department, Elks Lodge #1790, Legion Post #79 all of Ainsworth or to the family in his name. Interment was in the Ainsworth Cemetery under the direction of the Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth. Online condolences may be left at www.hochfuenralhome.com .
