Mrs. Marjorie A. (Vargason) Palmer Wentworth

Marjorie Ann (Vargason) Wentworth was born at home in Kirkwood Precinct, Rock County, Nebraska on August 3, 1923. The attending midwife was Mrs. Peters. She was the oldest of two daughters born to Orval and Alice (Timmerman) Vargason.
She lived her entire life in Rock and Keya Paha counties, graduating from Keya Paha County High School in 1941. Marjorie was very proud to have graduated from school in Springview and loved to attend the alumni banquets, fiddler jamborees and visit with old friends and classmates.
Marjorie married Walter Palmer on September 14, 1941 in her parent's home at Riverview, Keya Paha County. They lived in Keya Paha County until 1969 when they moved to Bassett, Nebraska. Marjorie lived in Bassett until her death in 2015. They had three children and ranched on the Palmer family ranch which has remained in the Palmer family since the 1900. Walter passed away in 1980. Marjorie married Artice Wentworth in 1991, who passed away in 2008.
Marjorie died on June 3, 2015 in the Rock County Long Term Care at Bassett. She was preceded in death by husbands, Walter Palmer and Artice Wentworth; granddaughter, Ann Marie Palmer; and great, great grandson, Jonathon Tuttle. She is survived by a sister, Wanda Lingenfelter of Bassett; sons, Denis Palmer and wife Betty of Springview, Darrel and wife, Dorothy of Furley, Kansas and daughter, Lee Ann Morse of Lakewood, Colorado; along with ten grandchildren including Kristina Tuttle, Bruce Palmer, Shawna Matthews, of Nebraska, Brett Palmer, Kent Palmer, Michelle Towner, of Kansas, Carrie Hester, Benjamin Morse, Andraya Barber and Daniel Morse of Colorado,19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors are two step-children, Lonnie Wentworth and Mary Wentworth and several nieces and nephews.
